Patients with German statutory health insurance

Patients with German statutory health insurance (GKV) must obtain confirmation of coverage before starting artificial fertility procedures. This usually remains valid for 1 year.

Patients with private health insurance

While patients with private health insurance are not obligated to obtain confirmation of coverage before the start of treatment, it is recommended that they do so, at least for cost-intensive treatments such as IVF and ICSI.

Self-paying patients

Self-paying patients are patients with statutory or private health insurance who are not eligible for coverage through the German statutory health insurance (GKV) providers, as well as private patients not eligible for coverage through their private health insurer.
